So I really liked my old purple prom dress from high school. This is my friend Rachel in the picture directly above, and her dress is really similar (and beautiful).
One of Debby's friends named Marie is making my dress. She has the fabric and pattern but she has 2 projects that are due April 1st, so it looks like it won't be ready till then. I am not worried, I hear she is a fast worker.
There is going to be some detain across the top of my shoulders, between my neck and the sleeve. It's really hard to describe, but the cummerbund is going to have a similar look, to tie it all together. I am also having only 1 layer on the sleeves. And my dress will be ivory (my skin tone is such that I look deathly in stark white).
The main thing is I am having her make a full-length detachable outer skirt so it can be knee-length. It will detach with the cummerbund. I am going to be getting low on the dance floor during the reception, so the dress needs to allow a decent range of motion. Once Ryan's mom saw me dance, she agreed that it would be for the best.

The first 3 pictures are hairspirations. I am doing fingerwaves with a single flower attached. I don't know how you attach flowers to heads without a bun or something. Maybe we will glue it to my head like they glue little bows to newborns' heads. I don't know...
